...I'm probably gonna get crucified for this, but basically I see Nickelback, Hinder, Default, 3 Doors Down, Theory of a Deadman, etc. as being the modern day equivalent of the MHR bands we all loved during the '70s and '80s. (Incidentally, I always wondered what Nickelback would sound like covering a Metallica song...) I'm not saying they sound alike, but the aforementioned modern bands play rock music with varying degrees of heaviness (ie., crunchy guitars, impassioned vocals, etc. ). I'm also not saying the quality is equal, but these bands are providing b*llsy rock 'n roll for young people today who like their music with a bit of an edge or a bite.
Just my $0.02 (which, with the Canadian dollar doing as well as it is, might actually be worth $0.02 !!!)
