Michael Bolton's 1987 album The Hunger (a classic piece of AOR IMHO - if only he'd continued in that direction!!) featured a few collaborations with the Journey guys. The standout was "You're All That I Need" written by Bolton, Cain and Schon and performed by Cain, Schon, Randy Jackson & Mike Baird and with backing vocals including Eric Martin and David Glen Eisley. If you listen to that track you'll here its absolutely classic Journey in every way, and proves that such a collaboration certainly did work - at that time anyway. I agree that if they'd announced MB joining now it definitely would not have helped their street cred - as he since moved on to be Mr Housewife's Choice!
