I agree with you that Into the Light is a vast improvement over Restless Heart. However, don't forget that the Coverdale/Page disc has plenty of classic tunes as well.

I also agree that Vandenberg is an overrated player. He really brought nothing to Whitesnake except the fact that he and David actually got along with each other. As far as I'm concerned, John Sykes was the guitarist that did that band justice. It's a shame that Coverdale and Sykes couldn't keep it together for more than one album. I'm sure we would have gotten another classic 1987-ish record instead of Slip of the Tongue.
