Gregg Bissonette - Submarine

Just picked it up this morning, and saw that it was mentioned on the front page, so I'm going to share my first impressions.

It's a wide mix of genres on this album. Fusion Jazz, Hard Rock, Rock, Blues, Salsa, Classic Jazz

The rockier songs reminds me a lot of Nuno's Schizophonic album, slightly pop-ish.

So is it any good? If you're into listening to musicians doing things you almost can't comprehend, yes! (I'm thinking about selling my drums... again... :-) With Matt and Gregg Bissonette on Bass and Drums and all those great guitarists, the songs are good individually. But since it varies in style so much, I don't really like it as an album. And I don't like to hear Joe Satriani playing Jazz. On the other hand I don't like to hear him play Techno, or whatever his last album was, very much either. :-)

Take care!
