Lillian Axe - official but worthless site at http://www.lillianaxe.com/
more current info and links at http://www.gargaro.com/music.html

together in an off-and-on-and-off-and-on status. put out an outtakes/leftovers disc called Fields of Yesterday a little while back that isn't too shabby.

Ron Taylor has an exceptionally great project called The Bridge that have put out a fairly well-produced demo disc. It is highly recommended by me.

Candlebox - is a crappy grungish band so who cares:-)

Shooting Star - http://www.shootingstarband.com/

still together. new album out called Leap of Faith. All material readily available on CD again.

April Wine - http://www.eburg.com/~cellar/

back together in some form. touring western Canada right now. New CD called Back to the Mansion coming soon. Two prior discs titled Attitude (1993) and Frigate (1994) came out on the Flood Ross Entertainment (fre) label, both available at one time in the US - don't know about now. Attitude was very good, Frigate was OK. More information at the web site listed. Looks like there's a semi-active mailing list.

Deep Purple - predictably http://www.deep-purple.com/

Still together with the ultra guitar god Steve Morse doing lead duties in the Mark 7 format if you are a real purple head who gets into all those Marks and stuff. Other members remain the same. Put out two studio discs with Morse - Perpendicular(96) which is top notch and Abandon (98) which is pretty bland. They have a couple of live albums and DVDs from this outfit as well. Joe Satriani was briefly a member of the band, but there is no official recordings with him. The band is on one perpetual tour that will end when they all die. There are about 400 or so various official and unofficial recordings in the works.

Rainbow - best bet is www.ubl.com

Rainbow is stone cold gone down the street of dreams. Ritchie Blackmore lost his mind and married some witch (satire to all you legal catz) and is now doing music and tours at Renaissance fairs. The man on the silver mountain (Dio) keeps putting out albums that are supposedly "returns to form", but he hasn't quite hit the mark just yet. Rainbow discs remastered very cooly by a Japanese label now available for a reasonable amount of money from your favorite importer.

Starz - Starz rox at http://users.erols.com/starzcentral/

All their material is available on disc from the band including a truckload of live shows and strange side projects for the complete Starz fanatic. They sell everything short of body discharges at the official web site listed above. Most people now think they are a cable tv channel.

Saigon Kick - you guessed it - http://www.saigonkick.com/

Saigon Kick put out one final Japan only release called Bastards with Jason. It's called Bastards because that is what you will call every web vendor who claims to have it available. It is difficult to find and very expensive. Figure on paying at least $35 for it. It is basically a stripped down version of the band doing a contract fulfillment release with their Japanese label. Nothing remarkable. There are also two versions of greatest hits discs with cool additional songs - one version from their whorish label and another version sold by Jason's BVB music label. Jason put out a completely whacked solo disc with strange techno stuff included along with his traditionally great material. Recommended for only the open minded. Jason then created a total label sellout band called Flat which collected a massive advance from the record label before being cut - the only time in recorded history that a record label got the shaft. He then sold the exact same band to another label with allegedly the exact same material under the name SuperTransAtlantic. It is a catchy power pop/modern rock hybrid with Jason's characteristic identity all over it. It is different but good. Think of an edgier Marvelous 3 and that's what they sound like. Saigon Kick the band is back together with Matt the original singer but without Jason. I know nothing about the status of that particular project.
