OK. OK so that was sexist. Sorry, but there are a hell of a lot of great women in the New Country scene that are well worth checking out beyond Shania.
Faith Hill (hell, even her husband Tim Mcgraw is worth a listen if you like THE EAGLES), certainly Martina Mcbride, Kim Richey, Linda Davies, Joe Dee Messina and a new (to me) trio called SHE-DAISY.

On a slightly less country note, check out the new JAYHAWKS album 'Smile' and I keep going on about WHISKEYTOWN who I was put on to by that feature in CLASIC ROCK a while back. They're brilliant. Like Nirvana playing country.
