Hi Rammy,
Glad to hear that you like the album you ordered. I always hate the thought that someone might buy something on my recommendation and then hate it. We all work hard for our money. As for other suggestions, it still might be worthwhile for you to check out Blackhawk's first two albums. I'd say that each one has around 6 standout tracks, and I doubt that any more than two or three of these were included in the G/H package. I realize that it seems like kind of an unusual thing to do after buying a compilation, but it might just be worthwhile. Actually, their first two albums are very readily available in local used shops. For $6 Canadian I could pick 'em up for you. Let me know. One other final suggestion: check out Restless Heart. Either their "Best Of" or their "Fast Movin' Train" albums would be good places to start. Both contain the song "Fast Movin' Train," and it's melodic perfection, IMO. The "B/O" collection also has the monster ballad, "The Bluest Eyes in Texas," but the I am also really partial to a lot of the tracks (especially the slower ones) on "FMT." Their "Big Iron Horses" is also very good, but doesn't feature their former lead singer, whose voice has kind of a cool gritty quality to it. Take care.
Don
p.s. - I'm probably gonna have everyone convinced that I'm a huge country music buff, when I'm definitely not. But there are a handful of country artists whose music I REALLY dig.
