These idiotic rumors began when launch.com badly edited a Sammy Hagar interview to make it sound like Dave was out of the band. They're all bullshit.

Out of 6 albums, a couple dozen unreleased early demos, and the 2 songs they made in 1996, the only song Van Halen should have ever "thrown out" was "I'll Wait". (Van Hagar and VDIII are a different story). There is no way in Hell that they are throwing out anything that was made by the original lineup.
