Thanks, sfk! I definitely notice the jazz influence in some Toto songs, and I love it! A similar thing is happening with jazz, at least some jazz, to what is happening with country. It is having more of a rock undertone to it, and thus is more appealing to me. I was hoping someone here with eclectic tastes might be able to direct me to some of that stuff, since we have a similar "first love" of melodic rock. I'd be much more likely to enjoy it than blindly going to a jazz board. The genre of jazz is similarly diverse to that of rock. I suspect I'd not like most of it. But if it is not considered germane to ask the question, please forgive me and let's move on! Try my new topic instead! :)
