I'm with Kurt here, I listen to CMT a fair bit - But - only because where I live we have only ONE other music channel "V" - and they are dedicated to dance, rap, hip-hop, a bit of grunge, and mainly alternative shit. When "V" do finally play their "Amped" section (which is supposed to be heavy metal) all you get is slayer, cannibal corpse, and the like - which is not the only style of Metal out there - they don't even play classic "old" metal!!)
So I listen to CMT - mainly the Rock'n'Country section - many a Country & Western artist has been played on there - Bruce Springsteen, Tom Cochrane, The Blackhawks, John Cougar, etc etc...

And one last thing - has anyone noticed lately that the difference between a modern Country & Western song, and a modern Rock song, is whether the slide/twangy guitar has been mixed in or out of the song? (or is it just me?)
