Frank I have only got a poor quality cdr of 11 tracks off this album and like you I was expecting a monster rock album. I have been a fan since 1978 and have everything the band have done. However, I disagree that it is a disappointing album. Even without Perry this is a classic AOR album, ok so there are more ballads than average but they are in a class of their own. For those who have not heard any of this album the ballads are BIG POWER BALLADS in the style of Open Arms and Still They Ride as opposed the things they were doing on Raised On Radio.
The other tracks do rock but they are not metal, just moody groove laden stonkers.
Opinions are divided but anyone interested should make up their own mind.
