Until a few months ago when I bought Best of Santana. And also surprised Santana tried MHR during late 70s and early 80s in All I Ever Wanted(wow it sounds like Kiss), and Winning(a pure Journey but not surprising 1981 was the year of Journey(Escape)).

As a guitarist some posters mentioned him as the most underrated guitarist.

If you know Santana tell us if Carlos's approach during that era successful?
