Couldn't agree with you more. But I must say the vast majority of posters on this board are very fair and cordial. Yeah, we debate but it's usually for the sake of argument and not diffusion of slandering and innuendo.
I encourage debate, the only thing I don't like is opinions without fact. For example, I'm a big fan of HEARTLAND and a certain person absolutely roasted them on the basis of one single release. That's ridiculous. I'm not about to slag a band unless I know their product expertly. Same goes with the Emerald Rain/Scarem debate. How can some slag ER so vehemently when Scarem aren't even doing Scarem anymore? And all my friends who've heard ER are adamant that ER are a hell of a lot heavier than Scarem ever were!
A very famous sports manager once remarked - "Opinions are like arseholes; evryone's got one". The main point is "to respect others and back up assertions with fact"!
