Contrary to popular belief, Bad English was NOT Journey. Okay, so Schon and Cain were in Journey AND Bad English. There's no comparison. Different singers, different bands, different direction. The identity of Journey does NOT rest on the sholders of Perry as you previously mentioned. Augeri has already proven that he is capable of handling the job. As much as I admire Perry's vocals, he passed on the opportunity to record and tour with the Journey (due to health reasons- so whattya gonna do??). The fact that Journey won't have Perry on vocals will be new to a lot of us, but Journey has gone through so many personnel changes and they always were able to create great music. How is that different this time? Tell me...

And in response to your comment about "Journey without Steve Perry might not be the most horrible thing ever, and some of you die-hard fans might even convince yourselves that you actually like it". I happen to like the first three albums that Journey released WITHOUT Perry. Don't generalize...
