I think kevin was merely trying to point out that fans (and also the band themselves) of Metallica would not consider them a melodic hard rock band. Even their newer albums cannot really be called melodic hard rock

The only reason I am categorising them is that it would be a shame to put a band like MEtallica (who are mere shadows of their former selves) in the same category as wonderful bands such as Ten, Heartland (hey KAOS FAN...Ousey rocks!!), Frontline, etc.

As for Rubber....that is the worst pile of rubbish I have heard in a very long time....

And it just makes me howl with laughter every time someone calls that album melodic hard rock....but if it makes you feel better to consider Rubber a melodic hard rock album then go right ahead..

But if that is the case, why not call Backstreet Boys and Eminem melodic hard rock as well....after all, we cannot be too narrowminded can we?? (sarcastic mode on)
