For years, I've heard a lot of slams on Malmsteeen (i.e. arrogant SOB, speed freak, blah, blah, etc.). I've always gotten into YJM's music, and I have usually agree with a lot of people saying that he has no emotion in his playing (although I still think his playing is incredible). For all of you Malmsteen naysayers, check out the solo to "Like an Angel" from the "Facing the Animal" CD. Granted there are a few sweeps in the solo, but it's not your "typical" Malmsteen solo- a lot of emotion in this solo. I get goosebumps when I hear it.
