Tommy Shaw is not getting up on stage playing by himself... he is not running the lights or the sound system, he is not setting up the tour dates, he is not doing the promotion for the shows. So, if he's wrong, he's not along.

Personally, I think there are two sides to every story, and both sides have made mistakes.
