I've met Gene a couple of times and enjoyed the experience. He's obviously very full of himself - justifiably when you consider what he's achieved - but was very able to send himself up. For instance, we were discussing Kiss bootlegs and he told me he prefers audience recordings to soundboards or radio broadcasts, because on them you can hear people saying things like, 'Wow, didn't Simmons get fat!' inbetween the songs. It made me laugh anyway...
