RE: Most Dissapointing Live Band

I thought GnR sucked at Donington too, so I never bothered seeing them again. Probably a mistake as everyone says they ruled on the Get In the Ring Motherf***er tour some 5 yrs later. I think Appetite rules and Illusions is quite good also, but that show was really bad.
Other disappointments:
W.A.S.P. opening for Iron Maiden in 1986. I know Blackie hated the Electric Circus album but it was a bit unnecessary to extend I wanna be somebody to 20 minutes of poster throwing and shouting rock cliches to avoid playing more tunes off the album. Plus the sound was awful and Blackie and Chris were more concentrated on "cool" stage moves than on their music - and that's being nice...
Ozzy on the Ozzmosis tour. He looked as if he would fall to the floor if he let go of the mike stand, he couldn't sing half of the material performed, and got off the stage after only an hour plus. The rhythm section of Randy Castillo and Geezer Butler was good as usual, but guitarist Joe Holmes -- I saw him mess up Eddie's and Vai's solos when he toured with David Lee Roth, and this time he lived up to all expectations by butchering Zakk's and Randy's material....
Backyard Babies in 97. I loved their 1st CD, and they rocked when they opened for Demolition 23 some years earlier. I really looked forward to seeing the best GnR/Hanoi clones and what I got was a bunch of spikey hair and safety pins style wannabe 70s punk rockers playing almost all new material which was total garbage. The fact that they opened for the no-talent rap metal posers Clawfinger didn't add to my enjoyment of the evening..
