and yes, the market in Japan has changed a little. Has-beens are starting to realise that they can't just ride the tail of their past glories - they have to put out good product to compete.

There are still plenty of stupid bands playing 2nd rate power metal who think that the Japanese will lap up their crap if the rest of the world doesn't. The sooner those bands get the message the better.
