John West´s Mind Journey - opinions please!

Thanks to recommendations from kind readers here, I picked up John West´s 1st solo album Permanent Mark recently and I love it. It´s just so damned good, even though the production is rather suspect (as always with a Shrapnel record...what is it with those guys? Smaller labels like Spinefarm can do a great job....). The songs, the vox (he has a great voice), the guitars, the drums... just excellent. There´s only one track I´m not keen on. I just have to get Mind Journey - his second solo with George Bellas on guitar, and am interested to hear opinions on how the latter compares with the first.
The other thing I´d like to know is how the first two Artension albums compare with Machine. I heard some of the latter, really liked the production and the songs but the keyboard solos just got too much in the end. Are the other albums like this? I know it´s Kupriji´s project but a little restraint would go a long way - if he is as indulgent on the keys as on Machine.
