Well looks like I stirred up some shit here :-) First of all I'm just back fom the Bon jovi show here in Sweden. It was a magic night and they proved that they are still the GREATEST rockband in the world. I'll give a review here tomorrow hopefully...
Anyway now on to that Journey thing. I really don't have anything against Augeri's voice. It's not great, but it's not that bad either.... It's just the Tallstories songwriting I hate. For me those songs just go nowhere. Someone mentioned the Shadowking album, Yep, guess that one is a love or hate album as well. For the record I love that album :-) If I want softer AOR, I listen to Aldo Nova or Reo Speedwagon. Basically I just don't like the songwriting in Journey or Steve Perrys voice either. But of course this is all a matter of taste.
Hey Kurt, love your newsletter, but seems like we have some different opinions :-) I definetly don't agree with your views that Babylon AD were among the bands that killed Melodic rock. I think they had great songs, and were not relying on an image. I would compare them to Tesla actually... Not trying to start anything here. Wouldn't it be boring if everybody liked the same bands :-)
