RE: Talk of Jonathan Cain

Might as well throw my 2 cents in here......
Sorry kids. Jonathan Cain ruined Journey. The first 2 or 3 albums after Steve Perry joined were great. Some of their best moments were the songs on which both Perry and Greg Rolie sang lead.
With Cain in the band they descended into pure cheesiness. It's this period that makes Journey laughable in the eyes of many today and makes them forget the many decent honest rock songs they wrote in the late 70's and early 80's.
Not that Neal Schon wasn't capable of better. The HSAS album he did with Sammy Hagar was some of his best playing ever. Too bad Journey couldn't have been as inspired instead of becoming a top 40 cheese factory.
and Journey without Steve Perry is a joke. If they didn't call it Journey in 1988 with John Waite singing (Bad English) then why do they call it "Journey" now with this reject from a Journey cover band??
