Chris, I am fully aware that that statement is an exaggerationbut, by and large, Americans find out about new music via radio and MTV, not the printed word. In Europe and elsewhere, magazines serve a real and important fuction in spreading the word since there is no college or rock radio to speak of. Sorry for going overboard in making my point.
