Thanks so much, both of you! I've been dying to do some editing on a crapload of songs and this is such a relief....especially the MP3Trim thing that Tinger mentioned, which is great. I prefer not meddling around changing them into WAV and back, because for some reason, the files go crazy on me when I turn them back to MP3 and have distortion and crackle in them (?).

However, the only thing the MP3Trim program is missing is the ability to frankenstein files. Meaning, to put a bit of one file into another or two songs in the same MP3 file, that sort of thing.....that'd be really cool.
