CuteMX Shuts Down
Date: July 29, 2000 01:36PM

on Jul 27, 2000 at 19:28:45 www.mp3.com is reporting:

Clearly reeling from Judge Marilyn Hall Patel's blow against file-sharing service Napster, GlobalSCAPE decided to shut down its like-minded CuteMX service today.

"We believe this is the proper thing to do given the confusion over this technology in the market," President, Sandra Poole-Christal said. "While the legal issues are being resolved, we will continue to advance our real-time search technology to increase the amount of information available to consumers and make the Internet a bigger place."

Other file sharing software, including imesh and Scour's SX program, were still operating at press time.
