So is it just a case of putting the 'product' first and distancing you're own feelings about the music? Being 'realistic' in the expectations for it. If so, then how does ANY band/artist get anywhere without friends in high places to make the decisions to make things happen.
I keep coming back to the Santana thing. Clive Davies MADE that happen and made no secret of his love for Carlos Santana's music at the Grammies.That has to be the biggest personal abuse of power seen in the industry but hey, it worked.
Maybe it could work a second time if someone had in the right position felt the same way. Y chromosome or not!
