Actually What you´re talkin´about is Black metal:
Gothic Metal would be bands such as:
HIM (a more commercial form of it, but its pretty cool. teh best "new" band in years)
Tristania, Lacrimosa, heavenwood.
This music hasnt to be heavy or so, but is more of an depressive, dark, feeling.I dont know much of that style, but to me it seems t transport really intense dark, but happy at the same time feelings.
