The Cult vs. HOL cred

That's funny coz The Cult do have a certain amount of credibility in the US and are even semi-respected by the mainstream rock media - probably because they never were heavy metal or asscociated with the whole hair thing (even though Ian had lovely hair back in the daze. It's just that it wasn't poofed up or hairsprayed to death I guess...). Now that House Of Lords reunion is another matter. While quite a few people on this board seem to treat it as the best thing to happen to rock in years, it won't even register on any sort of scale in the US. HOL never meant anything to begin with, not counting a few thousands die-hard fans, and their best selling record didn't go anywhere near gold when selling 500'000 units was nothing out of the ordinary for a new act. So I don't really see any labels other than maybe Deadline clammoring to sign these guys - and a tour would probably not be a good idea. Meanwhile, The Cult are signed to Atlantic and will probably play to anywhere from 1000 to 3000 people a night.
