Tribute albums... AAARRRGGGGHHH!!!!

When the F**k will this stop? (My vocation prevents me from using more expletives!)

This proliferation of tribute albums is one step above the disease of cover bands currently doing the rounds in the UK, stopping REAL bands getting gigs!

How can anyone pay tribute to a band who changed their name, (and their sound!) THREE times, and who took the most basic elements of their influences, namely Zeppelin and AC/DC, in order to make half a career? If you live in the US don't be fooled. THE CULT are one step above SPINAL TAP in the credibility stakes here in the UK amongst their original fans. With Astbury's continual change of ancestry being possibly the most hilarious element.

The bit that REALLY pisses me off is that with 'Spiritwalker' they were on the right track! They just felt the need to pander to the masses.

The news that they've reformed just fuels rumours that they need the dosh to be honest. The world could live without THE CULT reforming. HOUSE OF LORDS however...
