Richie has several tremendous albums where he plays guitar, sings and does just about everything else on them(including playing some bass, and percussion).
"Wave of Emotion" is probably my personal favorite, but "What Is" and "Something To Say" are excellent, also. His newest album "Break It All Down" is very good, but I haven't really gotten into it yet. He has an excellent all-blues album called "Bi-Polar Blues" which is very good if you are into that sort of thing. "Mother Heads Family Reunion" is O.K., but it lacks a little bit in the songwriting department.
He has definitely come a long way since the old Shrapnel days. Most of those albums were all instrumental, except "Fever Dream", which is not highly recommended. Only noteworthy track is "Dream of a New Day".
