I think Mtv realize that there is definately a resurgence of "heavy" music. Here in NJ, "metal" is thriving. Probably one of the most happening areas for this music right now. The bands that are big here have been on Mtv's "return of rock" show. I have a feeling someone at Mtv wants to make sure that if this music becomes more main stream, they [Mtv] will be on the cusp of it.
