....Dave singing JJ's songs usually didn't turn out any better. I've got a video of him attempting Desperate Dreams in '93 and while his voice was incredible that night (unlike it became in the late 90s), his version is better forgotten. Generally speaking, neither of them did any more than ok versions of the other's songs. JJ never had the attitude that Bickler had (and occasionally not the ranger either--see ESTWB) and Dave's voice just wasn't made to sing the smooth-melodic AOR that JJ does so well.

Both great voices, but Survivor couldn't have picked two people with more different styles. Almost the extreme of Steve Perry replacing David Lee Roth...
