I agree 100% with you, Daniel! I couldnt say it better ! I think if bands like Sr-71, who definitly can be counted to MHR, would modify their sound a bit more towards 80s rock they could make that style of music big again, just because they got the image and the look! Same goes for Bon Jovi, they modified their image and sound with every new album in the past years and still are on top! "Its my life" showed that there´s a market for melodic rock, otherwise it wouldnt have been a success. Without the success of IML there wouldnt have been a OneWildNight-Single-release, ( which was a success itself) but another lame ballad again like "Thank you....." .

As you said, there´s absolutly NO image in AOR music nowadays. Why should a kid buy a cd with guys on the cover that look like his dad, teacher or neighbour, if he can have that latino-sex bomb image of Jennifer Lopez, ;-), even if he doesnt like the music that much. He shurely wont listen to a cd which doesnt attract him visually, because most times you see the cover befor hearing he music, so you already got a image of hte music in your head just by seeing the band. And thats why Hammerfall for example sell that well! You look at the cover and immediatly know what it is! The covers of Arrival or Calm before the storm dont give any info about the music or image of those bands. Thats why i miss that Big Hair!!!! I immediatly knew what to expect from the music, by reading the band name or looking at the cover......
