Graham Bonnet

Spent Friday night in Portsmouth UK enjoying a PHENOMENAL vocal performance from Graham Bonnet, who along with Don Airey, Dario Mollo & the bass & drums from Thunder did 90 odd mins as a Rainbow tribute.

Bonnet was incredible, barely needing a mike at all. OK, he cribbed some of the words from a sheet, but who doesn't nowadays, but he was word and note perfect. And SO powerful !

Not enough Rainbow, I'm afraid, but then again, Richie dispensed with his services too damn quickly and we only got Down To Earth to remember him by.

So, we got Eyes of the World, Love's No Friend, All Night Long, Stargazer, Since You Been Gone, Lost In Hollywood, along with Only One woman from his days in the Marbles, Bad Girl, Maybe Next Time(both Rainbow B-sides) Night Games & a couple of Beatles tracks.

The main point of the mail is how the bloody hell could a talent like this just go so unrewarded for so long ? He has a voice that s/h graced a MAJOR band, and with all due respect to Alkatrazz, whose first 2 studio albums are pretty good, it was a wasted opportunity.

Has anyone noticed how much Don Airey looks like Richie ?

Yor thortz pleez
