Because Hanson do actually play instruments and write songs, they deserve more respect than the Backdoor Boys/N'Suck type of talentless prefab managment puppet acts. However, calling "Mmm Bop" the work of a rock band would be a big stretch. The best comparison would probably be the Bay City Rollers, in terms of a bubble gum group with actual musical capabilities. Whether these guys would ever be accepted as a serious rock band is doubtful, even if they really try. But then again Trevor Rabin of Yes was once in a band with one of the Bay City Rollers, so who's to say one of the Hanson brothers might not be a real rock star some day?

As for the question of them firing their managment.... I was under the impression that their parents were their managers. Is this no longer the case?
