Hi Mark !! .

Well it seems we both share the same passion for Magnum/Bob Catley (like-minded) , by the way that ain't news to me as I've actually seen you post several times voicing your opinion on their favor , right...and you're actually running a Magnum/Hard-Rain/Bob Catley site where you're developing stuff these days if I'm not mistaken , am I ?? ;-)

Bob Catley has always been my weakness , I'm listening to the song " Rock me in ya cradle " off of Hard Rain's "when the good times comes" at the moment...and just can't help but thinking that that's Sir Bob Catley's UNIQUE style and class like only the greatest can dream of caressing on their lucky night ( Steve Perry , David Coverdale , Lou Gramm , Jorn Lande , Tony Harnell ;-)..., Sr Bob's voice could even move a deaf Rock trapped in the hot and steamy pavement after being run over by a big gas truck...listening to tunes such as " Only a memory , Wild Swan , Don't wait the lion , On a Storytellers's night , Matter of survival , Shoot , Cry for you ( give me class of this kind...day and night...and I'm put my hard earned money right there in your pocket , you just can't find a better wine on this side of town , my friend ;-)...

I for one am keen on his relationship with Gary Hughes , He knows his sh*it and writes great tunes that fits in Bob's blessed voiced like a glove...in my hands when I'm at work (Dental Technician) but never whilst playin with mys...my baby (guitar/axe)...(what were you guys thinking ?? LOL :-)..., despite the fact that his last albums with Ten haven't appealed me much actually for not to say the least , really...but their first album could well be considered a classic of the 90's in it's own right...

And Mark , let me tell you that you're absolutely right on target pointing out that Tony Clarking is a great composer and I'd even dare to label him as a genius actually...well , maybe am indulging in my fantasies , not really...he's a genius judging his 25 years of musical bliss...

I also agree with Koogles when he mentioned a few days ago ASIA , John Payne era (God knows I'm not starting anything here ) as very underrated...I've never understood what's wrong with John Payne's voice ??...I'd actually never ever heard comments like the ones I've heard over here about his voice being pure shite in my whole life , the whole gang over here love his singing style and tone...are we losing the northen light or what ??...you just listen to tunes such as "Military man , Desire , Feels like love , Moon under the water , Don't come to be , Can't tell these walls , Right to cry , Sad situation...to name but a few "...and then tell me that the man sucks singing , anyway to each his/her own...mind you , I love John Wetton's voice just as much as his...mother ;-) !!

Mark , dunno what you'll think of the following but I think John Payne proves his Bob Catley-influence...among others of course...just as soon as he gets his hands 'round the microphone ( ok , not that much ) but listen to "Feels like love , Heaven on earth , Love under fire...to name but a few "...taken right out of Sr Bob Catley's book of magic vocal tricks...Mr Pomp I can hear you booing and hissing :-) !! .

Np: Magnum " Goodnight LA " .

Later !! .

MELODIC LOVER .
