Come on, Carl?? The new album can't even produce a good scare! None of the lyrics give me the same goosebumps that I get every time I listen to "Harvest Moon", "(Don't Fear) the Reaper", "In the Presence of Another World" etc.

The lyrics aren't there, the songwriting sounds rushed, the riffs are borrowed (Led Zep on "One Step Ahead of the Devil" and AC/DC on "Dance on Stilts") and the production is muddy. WAY muddier than Club Ninja!

Don't get me wrong... I love BOC. Everything they did up until this album. They are still one of my top 5 favorite bands EVER... but I'm sorry, as much as I wanted to like "Curse", I can't delude myself into thinking this is good work.

As I said before, the last time I had this feeling about a CD was with Styx's "Brave New World"... a CD that I wanted to like, looked really good on paper, but deep down SUCKED.
