ANATOMIC 'IN FOR THE THRILL'
(SUSPECT RECORDS)

Californian melodic rockers SHY TIGER released a terrific
album in the mid 90s and they got a lot of attention from us
(interview in one of our first couple of issues), but after the
release it became quiet around them. Until now, because they
have changed their name to Anatomic and released a CD on
Californian Suspect Records in the US which is the same label
that released Johnny Lima's first CD. They have released a
full-length new CD and believe it or not, it's a fantastic album! Musically they continue the style
from SHY TIGER, yet they now sound much more melodic and also much better!

You can compare the big late 80s melodic (hard) rocksound of ANATOMIC to ICON, LOUDN'
CLEAR, AUTOGRAPH, 80s BON JOVI, WHITE LION and JOHNNY LIMA. The songs are
super catchy and the choruses are very melodic and easy to sing-a-long. Cheesy or not, this is
prime-time late 80s typed US Melodic Rock at it's very best! ANATOMIC should be on top of
the charts instead of that wimpy BON JOVI with their so-called back to the 80s arena rock! This
band is playing the 80s Arena-Rock like BON JOVI never did!

It's hard to pick up favourites, because all the 11 included songs are great tunes. Songs like "Until
you're gone", "Drift away", "Make it real", "Goodbye today", "Hate to say goodbye" and "Power
of the heart" are all fantastic uptempo melodic rockers in the style of the mentioned bands. Also
very good are the midtempo melodic rocker "Livin' a lie" (co-written by JOHNNY LIMA), the
pure late 80s typed mainstream US Melodic Rockballad "The price" (bring back memories of
DAMN YANKEES and FIREHOUSE topping the charts) and the lovely calmer aor/melodic
rockballad "Out of my heart" (with great piano-keys and superb vocals by guitarist Johnny
Rowland!). What more do I need to say about this fantastic album? This album is a total must
for anyone into the mentioned bands, because maybe ANATOMIC is even better than those!
