I like the first 2 Artension records for what they are - Rainbow/DP gone shred. I do have the last 2 as well but I never listen to them because they're essentially repeating themselves w/o writing any killer material. Still, I prefer Artension at their most redundant over any Royal Hunt. As for 'keyboard hell' - yeah, VERY different kinds of 'hell'. Vitalji is the king of the ivory shred, a man with some real fire, whereas Andre is just plain boring and choking the life out of his band. Kuprji's album with Greg Howe is sick - I'm afraid to even listen to Andre's. I think West's best is 'Permanent Mark' with Kollman (imagine if he was in Artension instead Staffelbach!) and Scott Stine. I hope his new one is as heavy and as good or better - and maybe a touch less neo-classical.
