hmmm....top ten...this might be tough....
5. Journey - 'Trial By Fire' A few too many ballads but...Steve Perry is AWESOME...I hope we see another Journey CD with this guy
Journey cd (with Augeri on vox).....yes......september
Steve Perry solo cd......hmm.....maybe...in a few years
Journey cd w/Perry on vox.....don't hold your breath, I'm afraid. Augeri seems to be working out beautifully--something NOBODY expected!
as for the rest of the collection.....pretty good...theoretically Signal and Giant's debut fall in '89, but we'll let ya slide since not everybody keeps up with time that well.....lol
and my humble list.......in unarranged order.....
Signal - Loud and Clear.......I know it is '89, but I am not on time either a lot! IMO, Mark Free's finest hour...this should have sold a truckload!
The Storm - Eye of the Storm....best cd Journey never recorded, even though it might as well have been with the lineup. Chalfant and Rolie work miracles together....
Dare - Blood From Stone....the melody of Out of the Silence (which would be here also as fav cds ever--maybe we should do this next!) and the power of hard rock...it changes styles a bit here and there, but I love it
Bob Catley - The Tower....his best since Wings of Heaven. Love the production job on this one!
Hardline - Double Eclipse....need I say much? Neal Schon rocks! Never the greatest fan of Johnny Gioeli, but the songs are good enough to overpower any less than desirable qualities of his voice.
Journey - Trial By Fire......a bit ballady, but a wonderful showcase for probably the best rock vocalist ever, IMO--even though his voice isn't what it used to be
Stuart Smith - Heaven and Earth........Kelly Hansen, Joe Lynn Turner, Glenn Hughes--can this possibly be bad?!?!?!? lol A bit varied, but I love it
Fair Warning - Go!.....just fun stuff.....Tommy Heart is incredible and some absolutely killer songs!
Giant - Time To Burn.....good stuff! High energy and a great production
Phil Collins - ...But Seriously.....An '89 leftover, but still wonderful. Seriously bordering in AOR territory....
runners up......House of Shakira (something, I don't know what), Hugo s/t, Harem Scarem (s/t or Mood Swings) and probably a few I'm missing...
