I do have Chocolate Box and like it too. But not as much as EOTW. Several reasons. 1. I don´t think the songs are quite as good. 2. Kollman does a good job of impersonating Schenker, which is fine if you want that but this is the Mogg/Way project, not UFO. I want a guitarist with more, y´know? And Bellas sure is more, IMO...
More comments. ...
"Bellas strikes me as a post-Yngwie noodler with little to no feel and a really generic tone"
Post-Yngwie yes (well he has to be, doesn´t he!!!) but no clone. Yngwie remains my favourite guitarist of all time but Bellas is no mere copyist. His phrasing and style is different. Together with Rob Johnson, Bellas represents the best of the next generation of shred players IMHO. No feel? That´s what so many people say about Yngwie, remember...
Walk On Water starts off great then after 3 songs loses it. It´s very overrated and falls way short of Lights Out, Obsession and any of the Chapman-era albums. IMO....
