Most of my faves are missing from everybody´s lists! The order would change from day to day, but these would all make my desert island discs.
=1= Yngwie Malmsteen- Eclipse - the most complete album he´s evermade, a perfect follow-up to 1988´s Odyssey
=1=Yngwie Malmsteen - Seventh Sign - Yngwie back to his metal roots and playing more ferocious than ever
2. Ten - The Name Of The Rose - a masterpiece of melody and musicianship. Brilliant performances and songs.
3. Sonata Arctica - Ecliptica - I haven´t heard a better debut album by anyone this good since Van Halen 1. And they´re all so impossibly young!
4. Ten - Never Say Goodbye - the best live album I´ve ever heard. Honestly. Top notch versions of all the faves and unreleased material too.
5. John Norum - Face The Truth - Norum at his best, augmented by the undisputed talents of a living legend - Glenn Hughes. Every home should have one.
6. Mogg/Way - Edge Of The World. Forget Walk On Water, this album is the best thing the boys from UFO ever did after the sublime Lights Out. And George Bellas just smokes on guitar.
7. Black Sabbath - Tyr. Possibly the most complete BS album that ever lived. Not a dufff song from start to finish. Melodic, powerful, dynamic.
=8=Impelliteri - Screaming Symphony. Prime melodic power metal at its best! Not a ballard in sight and all powered by the scorching guitar of Chris Impelliteri, and the searing vocals of Rob Rock!
=8=Judas Priest - Painkiller. Metal to the max! A huge return to form for JP, largely due to the influx of new blood - Scott Travis lets his presence known as the new drummer right from the start.
9. Heart - Brigade - An AOR classic. No female vocalist can match Ann Wilson and she is simply exceptional on tracks like Wild Child, Secret and Stranded.
10. Dio - Lock Up The Wolves - a very underrated album, the perfect follow up to the somewhat disappointing Dream Evil and in rowan Robertson a perfect musical counterpart. Pity it didn´t last.8.
OK there are 12 albums in all...but I´d smuggle ém in somehow.....!
