Dude, if those are 'trendy alternative-style vocals' on SoP, then Geoff Tate must be Kurt Cobain's long lost twin brother. WTF?! Tony Yoanson's vocals are plenty melodic - great delivery, too! - throughout without sounding like some 80's throwback and work well with the heavier, darker music. 'Surface' is a slice of melodic metal that most bands can only dream of ever producing - the perfect mix between TNT's melodicism, the drama and lyrical slant of vintage Q'ryche, and - to a lesser extent - the moodiness of Alice In Chains. Do not pass this up, Brian!

NP: You guessed it (...and it's even better than I remembered!)
