Never seen them live, unfortunately...
But I bought the two Planet X records, and wow! They're as fresh and innovative as no one else.
If you can, get Serious Young Infects from On the Virg, Virgil Donati's band.
It sounds like Planet X Universe, it is less intense in terms of heavy sounding, but it's really great.

Virgil Donati is the best of the new players. I've never heard someone playing like him. Truely, he's unreachable for the use of his feet.

Tony MacAlpine... if you can, get his CAB record wih Dennis Chambers and Bunny Brunell. It's sort of fusion meets latin-american. Excellent playing from him :)

Enjoy and send a review of the show! (btw, Planet X should be playing with Steve Morse's bassman, Dave LaRue... watch out for him, his playing is stunning!)
