Hi guys,

After reading the original post in this thread, I decided I had to respond. Then I read Shawn's post, and it was like he wrote my thoughts for me!

"Karma Cleansing" (or "Believe") is a GREAT record!! Granted, I like "Mood Swings" better as well, but "KC" is loaded with great music! 'Rain' is an awesome ballad, and the track 'Karma Cleansing' is outstanding..."

...Although I'm not too fond of the lead-off (title) track, I too feel that the rest of this album is absolutely phenomenal! Personally, I don't honestly know if I'd even rank "Mood Swings" higher than "KC." I'd say that the s/t debut is still my fave HS album, but that "MS" and "KC" are tied for second place. And yeah, "Rain" is one of the most amazing ballads I've ever heard. I am positive that if I was to make a "top 10 ballads of all time" list, that "Rain" would make the list.

"I think "Voice of Reason" is a really strong record. Kinda like Harem Scarem mixed with Saigon Kick. The vocal harmonies are MASSIVE!!"

...I was so disappointed with this album that when it first came out that I decided that I wouldn't waste any more time or money on HS albums. I'm not kidding! I was so thoroughly, utterly disgusted in it that I actually gave up on the band. It was only after Rob and a few others convinced me to try "Karma Cleansing" that I finally broke down and decided to try that album (thank God I did! Thanks, guys!!!!) Anyways, over the past three years I have posted numerous times on this board about "VoR's" lack of quality and the importance of staying away from it. Funny thing is, a couple of months ago, when the snow melted and I started mowing the lawn again (a 3 hour chore every week!), I put "VoR" into my discman for some reason. Suffice it to say that finally, after probably 30-40 listens, I started hearing what people like Andrew had talked about: the melodies. Yeah, they're there. They're just buried fairly deep. And while it's still nowhere near the quality of the other three albums I mentioned, it's actually a pretty decent album. Just don't buy it expecting the melodies to be as blatantly obvious and instantntly accessible as on their other stuff.

"'Big Bang Theory' is not as strong as these two, but there are some really good tunes on it. 'Sometimes I Wish I Wasn't Born' is awesome!"

...Now I'm gonna have to blow the dust off of this one and give it a play or two! In fact, I think I'll do that now (the lawn needs mowing again, LOL!).
