The Danger Danger/Warrant Similarity

I was just recently listening to a bunch of old 80's/90's hard rock CD's in my collection and something occurred to me while listening to both the Warrant and Danger Danger catalogs. It seems that these 2 bands both followed a very similiar musical path...

Warrants first CD and Danger Danger's first are very similiar ....they both started out as more glam/AOR, using keyboards, a softer sound, etc.

"Cherry Pie" and "Screw It" : The BIG production, heavier, less keyboards, more bells and whistles. Big flashy album, big flashy cover art, big sleezy liner notes.

"Dog Eat Dog" and "Cockroach" : even heavier, more "serious" in nature in some places, and the commercial drop off for both bands I might add.

"Ultraphobic" and "Dawn" : Grunge influenced, their shot at mature lyrics and music. Totally darker and eons away from their glam/AOR roots.

At this point both bands finally split, Warrant deciding to go even further alternative with "Belly to Belly" and Danger Danger deciding to create the best music of their career with "Four The Hard Way." I just thought it was interesting that both seemed to follow along the very same path.

What do you guys think?

Brian
