Umm, Eric, you may want to get your facts straight on this one. The Greatest Hits 'package' was released on Epic. 'Third Stage' and 'Walk On' were on MCA. Like MCA, Epic tried to cash in a 'new hit by Boston with original vocalist Brad Delp' called 'Higher Power'. Like MCA, Epic should be ashamed Last I heard, the label had dropped Boston.

The litigious struggles and working relationships within the band have been a source of discussion well past the Boston/Epic Records proceedings that lingered on into the mid-80's. That's the point..and the point certainly does apply. Making music gets bogged down due to problems and egos. Original drummer Sib Hashian had to sue to have his name placed on 'Third Stage'. Guitarist Barry Goudreau--I believe--had to sue for royalties. Even original bassist Fran Sheehan has had some thoughts on suits and employment. These situations went well into the 90's.

Look, the group should have been the supergroup of the 80's, 90's and beyond. I can't say why it didn't happen that way.

Oh...and judging from the sales of Beatles 1 and Wingspan, the landscape certainly does need a shot in the arm. Even today's kids realize that the music of this era is...well...garbage. As far as Tom having thousands of tunes, I'd disagree. More likely he has songs with many differing variations. As was stated here...the man is a perfectionist.
