Now & Then / Frontiers News - 8 May 2001

Frontiers Records and Now & Then Productions are happy to confirm that
Mickey Thomas, the legendary singer of the band STARSHIP, has agreed to
record his debut solo album, signing a world-wide deal for three albums
with the Anglo-Italian label!

The album is expected to be pure heaven for all melodic rock lovers and
promises to be the logical follow up to STARSHIP`s highly praised "Love
Among The Cannibals" release.

Recording of the album will commence in Los Angeles during summer 2001
under the supervision and production of Klay Shroedel (Jimi Jamison’s
Survivor, Jeff Paris, Under Suspicion) and will feature a whole bunch of
melodic and hard rock superstars. More details will follow as they are

Another worthy addition to the label roster is the Swedish band LAST
TRIBE which has been just signed for Europe.

LAST TRIBE was formed by guitar genius Magnus Karlsson, before he became
a member of MIDNIGHT SUN on their successful "Nemesis" album. MIDNIGHT
SUN was put "on hold" for a while, but Magnus kept on writing his own
songs after the recording and promotion of that album.

The sound of Last Tribe can be described as melodic metal with a touch
of progressive elements and very strong vocals. The debut album which
shall be released on June the 24th is called "The Ritual" and was
produced by Anders "Theo" Theander (Pain Of Salvation, Majestic,
Midnight Sun, Sandberg etc.).

In reply to the numerous requests coming from the European and American
fans concerning Japanese bonus tracks, Frontiers Records wishes to make
the public aware that the Japanese record companies have the exclusive
rights for the use of the said songs for one year only. After the
expiration of the said term, Frontiers will give the fans the
possibility to listen to those songs on special compilations. The first
one of these will be released before the end of the year and will
include songs from The Sign, Voodoo Hill, Heaven & Earth, Seventh Key
and Kelly Keagy.

Additionally we wish to inform all the fans that all the European and
Japanese versions of the Frontiers Records releases come from the same
master tapes and therefore there is no audible difference in sound
quality between the two versions.

New RealAudio clips are now online for the following new releases:

Seventh Key "Seventh Key"
The much anticipated album from Kansas/Streets bass player Billy Greer
given a fantastic production from co-writer Mike Slamer. Generally being
talked about as one of the finest albums so far this year.
Released May 14th.

Emerald Rain "Perplexed In The Extreme"
Third album from Canadian rockes Emerald Rain shows more variety, with
some tracks harking back to their harder pre-Emerald Rain days as Pain,

Released May 14th.

Another mammoth double CD set featuring tracks from recent releases as
well as previews of forthcoming releases, including Giant, Hardline,
Hurricane, Terry Brock, Stan Bush and many others.

It's now official, that Allan Sorensen (ex. ROYAL HUNT) is the new
drummer in PRIME TIME. Allan is a replacement for Flemming Olsen, who
has become too busy as studio drummer for several Danish pop and rock
bands to be able to fully commit to Prime Time. Allan is no stranger to
the band, as he played the drums on the first album "The Unknown".

Allan was the drummer in Henrik`s previous band NARITA, and appeared on
the albums "Changes" and "Life". After the split up of NARITA, Allan
became the drummer in ROYAL HUNT and Henrik started PRIME TIME.

Allan has been on tour around Europe and in Japan with ROYAL HUNT in
combination with the release of their album "Paradox", which is the best
known ROYAL HUNT album. Furthermore, Allan also appeared on the debut
album of Steen Mogensen's (bass ROYAL HUNT) side project CORNERSTONE,
and he's going to finish the recordings of the new CORNERSTONE album as

Henrik commeted, "Allan is a real hardrock drummer, and he will add more
power to the band for sure. All the guys in PRIME TIME are pleased to
have Allan in the band, and we're looking forward to the recordings of
the fourth PRIME TIME album at the end of 2001. The songwriting is in
progress, and at this early stage it already seems like a killer album
is coming up."

The following is a statement from the organisers of the Thunderstruck

"I'm afraid this mail note is not good news. After a long hard think
about the situation it has been decided to cancel this year's
Thunderstruck festival. The reasons are many and varied, however I must
stress that all bands involved had no connection with the cancellation
and feel very upset about the situation. The problems that was faced
with putting on such an event were getting worse and to save the
festival at this short notice would be very difficult - there is no way
that it would be a success on any scale.

I would like to thank all those that were involved in trying to make
this festival happen. Many thanks must go to the bands for their time,
efforts and loyal friendships during the last year. I'm really sorry for
making this decision as it affects many people, but I hope that everyone
can understand the reasons as to why this has happened.

If you would like more information please e-mail at and I will try to answer your queries as
soon as I can.

I am extremely sorry that I have let everybody down, I wish there was
some way of saving the event, but this proved to be extremely difficult.

James James"
