Wow, so much ignorance in one post

OK, Mr. 1982, here's the story...

#1 the only way you could have supposedly bought the first 2 Europe albums when they first came out are if you are either from Europe or Japan.

1. Did I say I was American? 2. Ever heard of the concept of import albums?

#2 I was only about 10 when ' The Final Countdown' hit MTV and I wasn`t even a fan then.

That would explain the tenor of our post...

#3 If Billy(whoever the hell he is)White is such a great guitar player how come John Norum filled in for George Lynch when he left Dokken and not White huh?

Billy was in Austin and had his own band, ergo no time for Dokken - nor the desire to fill in for that matter. I suggest you ask Don Dokken sometime what he thinks of Billy and he'll give you the lowdown...

And you say White is a singer now? How come he didn`t sing on 'Up from the Ashes'. What did he have a sore throat?

Uh, I think Don REALLY insisted he be the singer. Does that strike you as odd?

#4 I didn`t see the 'Up From the Ashes' tour because I was only around 14 or 15 at the time. Sorry I`m not 40 years old like yourself.

I just crossed the big 3-0 a couple of years ago. Not everybody starts as late as you.

#5 Who the hell has heard of Mike Slamer, or City Boy or Watchtower or whatever the hell their names are besides you and maybe your ally Mr. Pope.

Mike Slamer happens to be one of the most respected guitar players in melodic (hard) rock circles and his albums with City Boy and Streets (you know, the band with Steve Walsh from Kansas... don't tell me I have to explain Kansas to you, too?) are considered classics of the genre. You're missing out big time - especially where Streets is concerned.

The only ' Watchtower' I know is the Jimi Hendrix one.

That's almost understandable in your case. WatchTower only happens to be one of the most influential progressive metal bands of all time - nothing you should concern yourself with. Btw, 'All Along The Watchtower' is a Bob Dylan song; Hendrix only covered it.

I mean where the hell do you find these cd`s? Or do you print them in Billy White`s basement:).

Record stores or the Net...? Just a wild guess...

If I want to listen to some unappreciated rock band`s I`ll listen to Autograph or Y&T or even Night Ranger maybe.

I can do w/o Autograph; Y&T ('Earthshaker' & 'Black Tiger' anyway) and NR (mostly 'Dawn Patrol' ) rule.

Yeah I`m sure I`ll find the ' Will Sexton and the Kill' record in my local record store. Yeah right.

Try the used vinyl section...

So if you wanna attack my age go right ahead. It`s better to be younger than older anyway.

I'm not attacking your age, but age is also not an excuse for your relative ignorance either. And you are not THAT much younger than I am, pal.

I mean John Norum was between 18 and maybe 20 when he made the first 3 Europe albums. For that young of a kid I`m damn impressed with his playing.

John was about 18 when he did the first Europe album, 20 on WOT, but had already been a pro musician since age 13 or 14. He was awesome then and he's awesome now; Yngwie or Paul Gilbert were technically far superior at age 16 than John is even now, so there's always someone better. I believe Billy White was 18 when he recorded the WatchTower album ('85) so he's actually a couple of years younger than Norum.

Thats all I have to say for now. The Fan has spoken. Take heed in my letter Mr Q than respond if you wish. My ass is done speaking.

It was certainly your ass that spoke - glad we don't disagree there. ;-)
